I fished with this outfit on 6/27/24. We got NOTHING! I am aware that this can happen and that catching fish is not guaranteed, however I’ve fished with charters all over the place and have NEVER been skunked. That’s not to say that all those trips went as planned but the crew either let us know that our plan may not be successful, or changed things up to target other species, etc.This crew did not change their plans or tactics at all. They did the same thing the entire trip and barely changed baits over the course of our 4 hour trip. They didn’t change depth, type of bait, areas, etc. This is by far the worst experience I’ve had in offshore fishing. Probably the worst part is that I voiced my concerns to Loraine with Mikes Marina the day we got back. She said she would look into my concerns and get back to me, that never happened. They target tourists in FB groups for local resorts and recommend themselves to guests who may ask about fishing. Do your own research.Interestingly, I tried to contact them about paying for the trip prior to departure. My email went to a former owner/operator who informed me he sold the business years ago. This lead me to think maybe most of the good reviews Mike’s Marina has are attributable to that owner/operator? Again, do your own research.If you value going with a charter that is going to be transparent and work their tails off to put your party on fish, in my experience, this is not the one you’re looking for.

Thumbs down for Punta Cana Mike . Very disappointed

this had to be the most miserable guided fishing trip my wife and I have ever been on.. Mike sold us on a 10 hr trip so we could possible land a trophy White Marlin ..They broke off of fish intentionally , they wouldn't add fresh bait when it was needed... We were after a trophy white Marlin that would go 90 plus inches and when we had one on the captain instructed the deck hand to break it off... Don't waist your money on a trip with them.....we were told the cabin had air conditioning , but it didnt.. the captain couldnt drive a row boat if he had to.....Mike was very arrogant and all he wanted was your money.....

Not a great experience. My bf and I went this past Tuesday on the 4 hour trip. Pretty much paid for a $380 boat ride. Our guide sat in the chair and kept falling asleep. We had 4 lines out, they weren’t even checked. The bait bounced on the top of the water the whole time. We caught one Wahoo the whole 4 hours. When the trip was over he reeled in the lines. One had the bait totally gone and another line was totally cut off. Was a HUGE disappointment and a waist of money, especially after our Cancun trip where we caught tons of barracuda. Would not suggest this excursion.

My father and I went out in a four hour private charter in the 29ft gladiator. We didn’t catch a single fish and were told we had a bite from a sailfish. Never even got to hold a rod during the four hour trip. I messaged Mike to let him know our disappointment and he said that the captain said we had a bite from a sailfish.We booked with this charter because of positive reviews but would recommend booking with your resort or another charter if you are looking to catch fish. Mates were good to us but overall super disappointed with the experience
